SEKO Logistics announced a new airfreight home delivery service – known as Airfreight + Final Mile – to support e-commerce retailers and customers in North America.

The service underwent trials in Texas and California, and is currently being utilized in the southeastern United States by an electronics retailer. The new product is aimed especially at retailers selling large or unusually shaped products, including flat-screen televisions, bicycles, and table tennis or air hockey tables.

SEKO’s offering combines domestic airfreight with the company’s already established ground transportation and last-mile delivery in the U.S. According to the company, benefits of the product include increased efficiency, reduced transit times and fewer claims for damaged goods, along with improved visibility during shipment.

“Our launch customer for this service has already reported improved transit times and a significant reduction in damage claims,” said SEKO Logistics president James Gagne. The service is available across all major U.S. markets and in select Canadian markets.
