Over the next few months, Berlin Tegel Airport will welcome a new ground-handling arrangement, called AeroGround Berlin, a newly formed subsidiary of Flughafen München (FMG), an airport group based in Southern Germany.
Under the new arrangement, FMG’s ground-handling subsidiary, AeroGround Flughafen München, has acquired 100 percent of Tegel’s current ground handler, Acciona Airport Services Berlin, from Spanish parent company, Acciona. The deal also includes the purchase of HSD Flughafen.
The merger of the two subsidiaries includes the workforce, fleet, all delivery and service relations of Acciona Berlin and the concession for the Berlin-Tegel Airport. The contract will also apply to the new Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, whenever it is completed. Last July, AeroGround Flughafen München was also awarded the concession for Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport.
