While passenger travel is holding steady at the LATAM Group, cargo traffic continued to disappoint in September, especially in Brazilian domestic and international markets, according to preliminary results released last week by the carrier.
RTK’s decreased 12.5 percent in September, y-o-y, with the load factor decreasing 6.6 points to 52.8 percent. The airline said it plans to continue adjusting cargo capacity through a reduced freighter operation which resulted in a decline of 1.7 percent of cargo ATKs in September. Year-to-date, RTKs were down 11.6 percent, year-to-date ATKs were down 1.7 percent and load factor was down 5.9 percent compared to the same time last year.
