The U.S. Department of Transportation has ruled that Miami-based SkyLease Cargo will be able to operate charter flights to China, using a 747-400ERF freighter.
The carrier sought an exemption from the DOT to provide service, via sister airline Centurion Air Cargo, between the United States, Hong Kong and intermediate countries. According to SkyLease, Centurion currently provides service into Tokyo and Hong Kong, and links these services to South America and various destinations in the U.S.
“We are excited about adding B-747-400 freighters to our fleet and the route structure growth we have planned with Centurion,” said Dan Stemen, president of SkyLease.
