SF Express launches first scheduled Nanjing-Osaka freighter service

Chinese express freight company SF Express launched scheduled flights between China and Japan with its subsidiary, SF Airlines, operating a 737-300 freighter. The launch also marks the carrier’s first international route to have a scheduled daily chartered flight.

The flights, between the cities of Nanjing and Osaka, will run on every weekday from Monday to Friday, making five roundtrips a week.

SF Express International Business Unit CEO David William Adams said that opening the Nanjing-Osaka air cargo route broadens the SF Express network and “makes our cross-border logistics capabilities more efficient.”

SF Express said it hopes that the new Nanjing-Osaka air cargo route will help to raise awareness of SF Express and its brand in Osaka, which the carrier regards as an important route for China and Japan’s trade networks.

The Chinese carrier added that it is teaming up with officials at both airports to streamline customs processing.
