Sir Richard Branson said he is looking forward to new flights to Detroit, since the city is going through “a remarkable regeneration journey.” That said, Virgin Atlantic Cargo is about to launch airfreight service between Detroit and London-Heathrow Airport.
Maybe it’s Branson’s desire to build an electric car to compete with Tesla, but Virgin will have 16 tonnes of belly capacity available each way on an A330 on a daily basis to the Midwestern U.S. city. Detroit is Virgin’s 11th destination in the United States.
