The economy might be a little lazy in China, but express delivery, more than likely due to the popularity of e-commerce, shows no sign of slowing down. YTO Express Airlines, the air division of Shanghai-based YTO Express, has applied to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for 14 weekly frequencies between Beijing and its hub in Hangzhou.
SF Airlines, the air subsidiary of Shenzhen-based SF Express, which has been in operation much longer than YTO, also applied to the CAAC to operate more weekly round-trip flights to Beijing, 14 weekly round-trips to and from Wuxi, 10 weekly rounds-trips to and from Shenzhen and six weekly round-trips to and from Hangzhou.
All told, the new service adds up to 44 new flights per week to the nation’s capital, and nearly seven more every day. With this many flights, delivery of e-commerce to Chinese consumers should be a slam-dunk.
