Kuehne + Nagel’s (K+N) first regional Logistics Control Center for Integrated Logistics in North Asia-Pacific, located in Shanghai, is up and running as of this week, managing and fulfilling customers’ orders across the logistics company’s international supply chain operations.
The new center has dedicated teams on site to handle contract and transportation management, including logistics partner management in a shared environment. K+N says that the center will conduct data analytics, using outcomes and data to continuously improve its methodologies.
The Bremen, Germany-based logistics company said that its business in North Asia-Pacific is driven, in large part, by customers of the automotive, consumer, high-tech, industrial and pharma and healthcare industries.
Siewloong Wong, president of K+N’s North Asia-Pacific operations, said that the new control center was, “in line with the group’s strategic approach to globally provide integrated logistics services and to expand Kuehne + Nagel’s end-to-end offering also in North Asia-Pacific.” Wong added that the expanded operations would help the logistics company develop, implement and operate “scalable solutions for greater flexibility and speed, thus improving supply chain performance.”
K+N’s Shanghai Logistics Control Center is the eighth of its kind for the company, global head of integrated logistics Tobias Jerschke added. “The footprint extension of our LCC is a clear answer to the growing demand of our Asian customers to manage global supply chains flows.”
