Danish logistics giant DSV is set to break ground on a logistics facility expansion at its headquarters in the Roskilde-Hedehusene-Taastrup area, about 25 miles west of Copenhagen, which it said is “just the beginning” of a wider expansion plan, set to be completed over the next five years.
The project will include the construction of four logistics buildings, which will add approximately 32,800 square feet of space – bumping total capacity to about 820,200 square feet. The company expects to invest about US$152 million and eventually employ an additional 1,200 people.
“When we build to accommodate our clients’ growth, we have to think big, and we have to plan for more than the immediate future,” Brian Winter Almind, executive vice president of group property at DSV said.
The company is also moving forward with capacity expansions in North America. In November, its Canadian arm broke ground on a 1.1-million-square-foot facility in Milton, Ontario, to underpin its air, sea and road divisions in Canada.
