Last week, CEVA Logistics expanded a warehouse outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, making it the largest warehouse complex in its Southeast Asia logistics portfolio. The facility, Central Distribution Center 2, located 16 miles from the Malaysian capital, was constructed on the same site as CEVA’s Central Distribution Center 1 at Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam.
The new center gives CEVA 108,000 square-feet of additional warehousing and office space. Combined with the first distribution center, this gives CEVA approximately 220,000 square-feet at this location. The double-story warehouse has direct truck access to 40 loading docks on both levels, as well as various environmental controls, such as continuous ventilated roller shutters for maximized air circulation.
The combined facilities are in a strategic industrial area, near a highly-developed road network and transit system, and situated close to Malaysia’s main port in Klang.
CEVA’s CEO Xavier Urbain said Malaysia is a region with an emerging middle class, which is driving Asian consumption upward, positively influencing trade and supply chain activity in all sectors.
