CargoLogicAir nearly ready for launch

CargoLogicAir, the UK-based subsidiary of AirBridgeCargo, has gone live with a website — cargologicair.com – hired its flight crews and rolled out its first 747-400F with the new livery. All that’s left for the fledgling all-cargo carrier is the all-important Air Operator Certificate from the U.K.’s Civil Aviation Authority.

The aircraft, originally destined for sister airline AirBridgeCargo, was leased from Aircastle and was sent to London-Stansted, where it has been undergoing test flights for much of this month. London-Stansted Airport will be the headquarters for the new carrier.

Once launched, CargoLogicAir will be the U.K.’s only maindeck airline. The carrier will have both scheduled and charter operations, but has yet to provide specifics. CargoLogicAir is a subsidiary of  Volga-Dnepr.

Earlier this month, AirBridgeCargo president Denis Ilin told Air Cargo World that CargoLogicAir would be operated more on a charter basis. AirBridgeCargo, which received two new 747-8F deliveries from Boeing in early November, eventually plans to interline with CargoLogicAir.
