DHL Global Forwarding has made a deal with Canadian department store Holt Renfrew to manage its supply-chain needs from end to end, connecting Canada to Europe, the United States and Asia. DHL said it plans to design a “tailored warehousing solution” with IT infrastructure for Renfrew’s European operations.
The “multi-year” agreement includes air- and seafreight shipping of designer apparel, accessories, cosmetics and fragrances to the retailer’s nine outlets in Canada.
The forwarding giant seems to be doing well in the Asia-Pacific region, recently investing in several apparel facilities in “key Asia Pacific markets” to provide fashion houses and apparel manufacturers with airfreight, seafreight and customs brokerage services. In May, DHL boosted its trans-Pacific air freight capacity, adding a second 747-400F to its on an ACMI lease agreement with Atlas Air.
