Today, Austrian 3PL Gebrüder Weiss has begun construction on its 9,000-square-meter logistics facility in Maria Saal – a town in Austria’s southernmost province of Carinthia – citing an increased demand for its final-mile services and need for greater warehouse capacity as catalysts for the project.
The company handles air, land and seafreight – handling 320,000 units of Carinthia’s exports and imports in the past year alone. The coming months will see the construction of two more logistics halls to the site, costing Gebrüder Weiss €4.1 million.
This expansion is at the fourth stage of extension at the Maria Saal location and should be complete by the end of 2018, the company said.
