Asia Ground Service Company Ltd. (AGS) began ground handling and cargo terminal operations at the Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), and joined EzyCustoms to handle electronic air waybills (e-AWBs).
EzyCustoms operates as a single platform connected to multiple customs systems, allowing for electronic customs reporting of cargo information. According to AGS, it is the first ground handler to use the platform for e-AWB exchanges with its customer airlines. The implementation of e-AWB usage across the air cargo industry is leading to more operators adding the service to their technology rosters. In December, Cathay Pacific Airways also began using EzyCustoms, for its Vietnam-based operations.
Initially, AGS will use the system to send and receive electronic documents including master air waybills, house manifests and flight manifests. AGS is also working with Thailand’s customs department to eventually integrate EzyCustoms with their system, allowing for the submission of advance cargo information.
AGS handles cargo for Thai airlines NokScoot, Thai AirAsia, Thai AirAsia X and Singapore-based Scoot Tigerair.
