Canada’s Edmonton International Airport (EIA) is well on its way to logging seven years of consecutive growth, with Aeroterm set to open a new $10 million, 50,000 square foot, multi-use cargo facility in EIA’s Cargo Village on Friday, October 20. Adjacent to freight companies such as Purolator, DHL and Cargojet, this latest edition represents a concerted effort by the Canadian airport to attract more cargo business.
EIA said that last year, over 250,000 square feet of new cargo facilities were completed or announced, including Aeroterm’s facility. The airport has also added international and domestic cargo routes over the last year.
Aeroterm began construction of the multi-use airport facility early 2016. The facility includes airside flight kitchen operations, and air cargo support facilities. Tenants of the new facility include Gate Gourmet, ATS and Swissport.
