American Airlines Cargo has selected FlyUs to serve as its general services administrator (GSA) in Hungary and Poland. Both countries are off-line destinations for American’s network, with cargo being trucked from Budapest to Warsaw en route to London, Frankfurt, Munich or Paris for direct entry into the cargo flow.
FlyUs country manager Zsolt Szabó said that all of American’s eight gateways in the U.S. are appealing to customers in Hungary. He said FlyUs is already booking orders for electronics, pharmaceuticals, automotive and healthcare equipment, adding that there is potential business from across Hungary for pharmaceuticals, which are shipped onward to Latin American countries.
Polish customers have started sending shipments to the U.S. East Coast hub with car parts, ship spare parts, electrical devices and cosmetics. In both countries, a dedicated sales staff has been hired to handle AA Cargo’s business.
