FedEx Express launches new Taipei route

“By extending the cutoff time to 7 p.m. in major cities and industrial zones throughout Taiwan, we’re providing our customers more time to prepare and manage their exports and supply chains,” FedEx Services’ Raj Subramaniam said in a statement. “With the new direct 777F service, FedEx customers will benefit from the later cutoff time for both FedEx International Priority and deferred International Economy shipments.”

In a press release, FedEx Express explained that surging trade levels between the U.S. and Taiwan propelled the demand for the new route. Last year, in fact, Taiwanese exports to the U.S. swelled 15.6 percent, year-over-year, while bilateral trade between the two nations reached $67 billion.

The addition of this new service brings the total number of FedEx 777F routes connecting the Asia Pacific to the U.S and Europe to nine, according to the news release.
