To increase its land network in the United Kingdom, DB Schenker Logistics is purchasing U.K. logistics company, Redhead International. Schenker will acquire 75 percent interest in Redhead early in 2016, with the remaining 25 percent to be acquired after four years per a contractual obligation.
The new organization, once approved, is expected to operate more than 300 vehicles that will serve five regional depots and offices next year. The deal will also create partnering relationships spread across the U.K.
Redhead is also a member of the U.K.-based pallet management network, Palletforce, with more than 100 depots throughout the country. The takeover is subject to approval by local antitrust authorities.
