Dachser India earned its CEIV Pharma certification from the International Airport Transport Association (IATA) for life science, health care and pharmaceuticals handling at its Mumbai (BOM) and Hyderabad (HYD) airport branches, the company announced yesterday. According to the logistics firm, the certification is a significant achievement, given that very few companies are currently accredited in India.
Dachser said it is the second logistics firm in Hyderabad to receive this recognition, while in Mumbai there are only a few in the surrounding region.
IATA’s Asia-Pacific regional director for airports and external relations, Vinoop Goel, congratulated Dachser India for attaining the certification. “With India being a major supplier of pharmaceutical products, Dachser India’s CEIV Pharma certification will give pharmaceutical companies confidence and assurance that their cold-chain logistics requirements are being met,” he said.
The move will position Dachser well to capture developing cargo markets in the region, as carriers like Virgin Atlantic Cargo increase their frequencies to Indian airports. HYD and BOM are also in the process of strengthening and expanding their cargo infrastructure.
