Beginning this month, Post Luxembourg and Singapore-based SingPost will begin using each other’s main hubs as continental gateways for cross-border parcel deliveries between Europe and Asia.
Just as Post Luxembourg has a European-wide delivery network, SingPost is able to reach nearly any destination in Asia. Customers using the services of either company can now seamlessly track their packages as they move between the two continents.
“Our collaboration with Post Luxembourg will boost our presence, capabilities and e-commerce logistics network in Europe,” said Mervyn Lim, acting group CEO of SingPost. “Post Luxembourg’s strategic location in the heart of the continent, and its excellent relationship with the customs authorities, will benefit our customers and their businesses.”
Claude Strasser, CEO of Post Luxembourg, said, “It was important for us to find a strategic partner covering the entire Asian territory.” The deal, he said, “allows us to attract European e-commerce customers with a true value proposition.”
The new reciprocal agreement could also be a major boon for Luxembourg-based Cargolux, which operates five weekly flights between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Luxembourg’s Findel Airport.
