Bulgarian cargo carrier Bright Flight has based an An-26B freighter at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport (PAD), allowing urgent deliveries of up to 5.5 tonnes of freight to be transported at short notice to anywhere in Europe. This new chartered cargo service operates 24/7 from the airport, located in northwestern Germany.
“The ad hoc charter flights are essential for daily business,” said Marc Cezanne, CEO of Paderborn-Lippstadt. “Now more than 77,000 companies in our region will be able to gain from this stationing of Bright Flight.” In one recent example, 5.4 tonnes of rubber seals were sent to PAD with Bright Flight to address a shortage for an automotive manufacturer.
The airport was also chosen for its geographically attractive location, in the heart of Western Europe. Besides automotive and machine parts, Bright Flight is authorized to carry hazardous cargo, live animals and medical equipment.
