DHL Global Forwarding has renovated its facility in El Paso with the intent of strengthening its capabilities along the southern border of the United States. Additionally, DHL Global Forwarding said it now offers airfreight, ocean freight, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and cross-border services out of the facility.
As part of the renovation, DHL Global Forwarding increased office space in its El Paso facility by 50%, which also now includes an open floor plan. The building now houses 185 workspaces, up from the previous 105. DHL Global Forwarding said the renovated facility promotes greater team cooperation, which will serve to support ops at this “strategic location.”
The El Paso location “is a key pillar for our Southern Border region where we are now offering our full range of Freight Forwarding capabilities to a broad base of customers at both sides of the border,” said Alejandro Palacios, regional vice president of the South region for DHL Global Forwarding in a statement on the expanded facility. “Our goal is to reinforce what we have been doing in the last years, which is to enhance our customers’ ability to foster their own business in the area, with a special focus on key industries including technology, automotive, manufacturing and aerospace,” he detailed.
The move continues an emerging trend of air cargo and logistics activity bubbling up along the U.S.-Mexico border.
