Texas-based 3PL Team Worldwide joined the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA) – the organization of logistics companies that aims to develop blockchain standards and technology for the cargo community.
The CEO and President of Team Worldwide, Jason Brunson, said, “Prioritization of technology is required to remain successful in today’s marketplace,” echoing the industry’s sentiment that digitalization is a necessary step for the future of logistics.
Since BiTA’s founding in 2017, we’ve witnessed major industry players like Panalpina, FedEx and UPS join the now 450-member organization, but have yet to see any major strides in advancing the actual implementation of blockchain into companies’ operational processes. The organization is hosting a conference in Texas this November to discuss the industry’s status and plans around the topic.
