Doing it yourself has become a popular home decoration concept not only in the U.S. but in Europe as well. AKI, a leading “DIY” company located in Spain, has awarded a three-year contract to CEVA Logistics to make sure the bathroom, kitchen, lighting and other hardware items keep flowing across the world.
CEVA has worked continuously with AKI since 2010 and now has a team of approximately 100 employees, who operate a 98,500-square-foot, centralized, multi-user hub for the company in Ontigola, Spain. This is where goods are received, picked up and handled, and orders are prepared.
Additionally, CEVA has begun implementation of an e-commerce service for AKI, in addition to the 35 stores it already supplies around Spain. This service will run alongside the existing operation. CEVA has also opened an additional facility at Ocana, where CEVA will dedicate 16,500 square feet to prepare for further growth, including the opening of several urban stores, a new concept by AKI, in the coming years.
On AKI’s behalf, CEVA is responsible for managing some 250 product providers and in excess of 1.5 million product lines.
