TransForce, Canada’s largest trucking operation, has acquired Hazen Final Mile from U.S.-based parent company Hazen Transport. This acquisition positions TransForce to deliver goods to nearly 500 daily routes in 20 U.S. cities says the Journal of Commerce. Hazen Final Mile will be folded into TransForce’s same-day logistics arm, Dynamex, which TransForce acquired in 2010.
Hazen Final Mile, however, will retain its brand and maintain its Michigan headquarters, according to Bloomberg, and no employees will be laid off. Rick Palmer, president of Hazen Final Mile, will remain and will report to Scott Leveridge, president of Dynamex U.S.
