Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. and PEMCO World Air Services announced several freighter conversions in the past week for clients in places such as Africa, China and Colombia.
- Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. redelivered the second of four B737-400SF 11 pallet freighters to Allied Air of Nigeria (pictured above). The second freighter to deliver is a high-gross weight B737-400SF built in 1994. The conversion was performed at AEI’s Authorized Conversion Center, Flightstar Aircraft Services, in Jacksonville, Fla. Allied Air now has two of a planned four AEI B737-400SF’s flying in support of its DHL and other customer contracts in West Africa. This is AEI’s 15th of an estimated 23 freighter redeliveries in 2013.
- Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. redelivered the first of three B737-400SF 11 pallet freighters to Yangtze River Express of Shanghai. The first freighter to deliver is a B737-400SF built in 1998. The conversion was performed at AEI’s Authorized Conversion Center, Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services in Shanghai. This is AEI’s 14th of an estimated 23 freighter redeliveries in 2013.
- PEMCO World Air Services announced the redelivery of its second special mission 737-400C to Safair for operation in Africa. This Combi will be used primarily in support of global humanitarian and charitable relief organizations. This aircraft has a PEMCO-designed Swiss army knife cargo-loading system, capable of simultaneously carrying 4.5 pallets of freight in multiple configurations.
- PEMCO World Air Services announced the redelivery of a second 737-400 converted aircraft to AAR Corporation and end customer Fuerza Aérea Colombiana. This second aircraft is a 737-400 Combi capable of carrying 4.5 full 88×125 positions of freight. The aircraft will be used for special missions in support of various Colombian Air Force and humanitarian efforts.

The fourth aircraft is in work at PEMCO’s Tampa MRO Base with an additional four aircraft to be inducted over the next three months. All aircraft converted for AERGO to date have been 737-400 eleven-position freighters.
