Cathay Pacific Airways will pay a fine of A$11.75 million (US$12.28 million) to settle an air cargo price-fixing case with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. The company had pleaded guilty to allegations that it took part in price fixing between 2000 and 2006.Delta Air Lines flew 1.936 million ton-miles of cargo in November, an increase of 0.6 percent on the same month in 2011. The figure for the first 11 months of this year was 0.8 percent higher at 21.73 million ton-miles. The carrier has announced it will add a third daily flight between Atlanta and London Heathrow Airport from 31 March.The Atlanta Air Cargo Association presented a local charity, the LIFT Community Development Corporation with a check for $1,800 to help replace stolen Christmas toys.Drewry, a long-established container shipping analyst, has partnered with WACO-System, the global forwarder network, to launch airfreight rate benchmarks across multiple trade lanes. The new venture will see Drewry broaden the scope of information in its existing Freight Shipper Insight report, to include new routes beyond the ex-Shanghai air freight rates which it has been providing for two years. WACO members operate from more than 400 locations in 90 countries, and together handle one million tons of airfreight per year.Atlas Air has taken delivery of its seventh Boeing 747-8 freighter. It is the second aircraft of this type to go into service with DHL Express, and replaces a Boeing 747-400F. Atlas will receive two more 747-8Fs in the first half of 2013, completing its order of nine.Pegasus Cargo has announced a new road feeder service from Sabiha Gocken Airport (SAW) to Ataturk Airport (IST) 3 times a week. With this new service, customers located on the European side of Istanbul are now able to clear their shipments through customs at S Sistem logistics warehouse located at IST.Qatar Airways has begun 4x weekly service to Warsaw. The rapidly expanding carrier has launched 12 new routes since the beginning of 2012 and now serves 32 destinations in Europe.International Airlines Group, the parent company of British Airways World Cargo, bmi and Iberia Cargo has announced the formation of IAG Cargo as single, unified brand for customers to engage with and access its air cargo services.
