Cargo handler Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) opened a new temperature-controlled facility in Copenhagen to support growing demand for pharmaceutical volumes and WFS’ CEIV-Pharma certification program in Denmark.
The Copenhagen facility offers temperature-controlled chambers offering environments from +2◦C to +25◦C. All lanes in the facility are also equipped with electronic rollerbed systems to expedite pharma handling. WFS expects to gain International Air Transport Association (IATA) CEIV certification in Denmark early in 2018. WFS earned its first CEIV-Pharma certification in Europe early in December, at its Brussels cargo station. The cargo handler is also adding new facilities in Paris and Milan.
In addition to the new facility opening, WFS also formed an agreement with Air India to provide cargo handling for the carrier’s thrice-weekly 787 service between Copenhagen and Delhi. WFS’ general manager for Scandinavia, Jimi Daniel Hansen, noted the importance of the route for offering “a direct trade link for exporters and importers in both countries.”
