- Volga-Dnepr Airlines transported aircraft wings (pictured above) for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Japan to Boeing’s final assembly factory in Everett, Wash., onboard an An-124-100 Ruslan freighter. The flight from Nagoya carried two wing boxes, each measuring 91 feet in length and manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
- Etihad Airways will advance discussions with JatAirways about an equity investment in the Serbian national carrier. An initial memorandum of understanding between Etihad Airways and the government of Serbia was signed in Belgrade, Serbia.
- Latin American carrier Avianca took delivery of the first of 15 ATR 72-600s that it commissioned in 2012, with the signing of a contract that also included options for 15 more aircraft valued at more than US$ 700 million.
- MD Logistics has become one of only a few pharmaceutical third-party logistics companies in the Indianapolis area to achieve Foreign Trade Zone status. Having FTZ status means that when a customer’s imported product arrives at a U.S. port, it can be moved immediately to MD Logistics facilities without waiting for customs clearance.

- Jan de Rijk Logistics has signed an agreement with Garuda Indonesia, the national airline of Indonesia. The road feeder service and handling agreement is providing Garuda Indonesia a network to 30 major European airports from its European hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol where it operates four flights a week.
- Freight forwarder C.H. Robinson Europe opened a new office in Istanbul that will offer international road freight services. Turkey is one of the largest and fastest growing economies in the world, and demand for logistics services in the region is increasing.
- China Airlines finalized its order for 20 GE90-115B engines to power its order for 10 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with four aircraft leased from GECAS and six purchased
from Boeing. The engines are valued at US$170 million. Delivery will begin September 2014. - Volga-Dnepr delivered an 80-tonne mobile gas turbine power plant to Sochi, Russia, the capital of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The shipment traveled onboard an An-124-100 freighter from Krasnoyarsk, Russia. The delivery was completed on behalf of the Russian company Instar Logistics.
