SEKO Logistics opened the first of 20 warehouses that it plans to open across Mexico in a bid to capture a share of the country’s automotive, retail and aerospace business. The Itasca, Illinois-based logistics company called the development a “watershed moment” that spoke to its international aspirations.
The first 10,000-square-meter warehouse opened its doors yesterday, in Ocoyoacac in the State of Mexico, and SEKO plans to follow with six more facilities across the country in Laredo/Nuevo Laredo, McAllen/Reynosa, Mexico City, Monterrey, Toluca and Queretaro.
“This is a true milestone in the development of SEKO Logistics and will enable us to provide to clients in Mexico and other countries the unique forwarding, logistics and technology,” said William Wascher, SEKO Logistics’ chairman. “The potential for us in Mexico is further enhanced by our network of nearly 60 locations right next door in the United States.”
SEKO is now offering its full spectrum of services in Mexico, including airfreight and ocean logistics, ground transportation, warehousing and distribution, and customs and compliance within fully secured environments.
