Today, LATAM Cargo launched a project to replace its current cargo management systems that will enable customers to manage end-to-end processes, including tracking, booking, claims and rates through a digital portal.
The Chilean carrier has employed Indian IT company Wipro to implement its existing operations management software, CROAMIS – a process that will be completed by end of 2020, LATAM estimated.
The carrier’s CEO, Andre Biachi, spoke to Air Cargo World in May of LATAM’s intention to improve its “IT backbone and our service,” saying the project is the “most ambitious program that has launched [at the airline.] We’re confident that it will have a big impact on customer service.”
By digitalizing its processes, the carrier expects to substantially increase its efficiency by consolidating the number of systems and the “associated infrastructure,” which Bianchi said will translate to better transparency with customers.
