IAG Cargo, which amalgamates British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo’s networks, said the deal has the potential to boost the company’s presence in the small- and medium-sized market. The carrier’s David Shepherd also addressed this benefit, stating that engaging with this niche market is integral to IAG Cargo’s strategy.
“We are doing many things to ensure this happens, from refreshing our customer loyalty program to presenting innovative products that help increase businesses with this important customer base,” he said in a statement. “Today’s MoU represents another channel for us to grow in this market, by engaging with the most important networks of freight forwarders around the world.”
GLN’s customers will also benefit from the agreement, according to the press release, gaining access to IAG Cargo’s more than 350-destination-strong network.
