Emirates has taken delivery of its seventh B777F freighter, which it is leasing from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE).
Ram Menen, senior divisional VP for Emirates SkyCargo, says the carrier’s freighter fleet will consist of 13 777s by 2014, plus two B747s. Bucking the downward global trend, Emirates saw a 16 per cent increase in cargo volumes in the six months to Sept. 30.

DAE has canceled five of its 10 orders for B747-8F orders placed recently by an unidentified customer. This was a second reduction in the lessor’s 747-8F order. Last year it converted five of its then order for 15 of the type to 777Fs, all of which will go into service with Emirates.
