Denmark-based transport and logistics company DSV released its second-quarter financial results for 2018, which show it has sustained continued strong growth following a record-breaking 2017 year.
The company experienced varied growth in each of its segments during Q2. Looking specifically at airfreight within the Air & Sea division, gross profit grew 16 percent (including exchange rates) to $186 million – accounting for half of the division’s total gross profit of $374 million. Airfreight also experienced notable growth in traffic, reporting an increase of 12 percent to 173,578 tonnes.
Meanwhile, its Road segment’s gross profit also grew by 2 percent and Solutions grew by 10 percent.
The company said that growth in these areas was driven by demand for services from Europe, the Middle East and the Americas Africa (EMEA), despite the onset of the international trade war-era that many industry leaders say is already beginning to dampen growth.
