Dnata will handle cargo carried by Virgin Australia on its daily flights from Sydney and Brisbane to Los Angeles and back, and its three frequencies per week connecting Sydney and Abu Dhabi.
Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s team in Australia will relocate to dnata’s cargo terminal in Sydney as part of the deal. Virgin Atlantic is contracted to Virgin Australia and manages all of the airline’s longhaul international cargo capacity.
In 2014, Virgin Atlantic generated 18,000 tonnes of cargo for Virgin Australia, a 21 percent increase over the previous year, a continuing trend in the first quarter of 2015.
