Deutsche Post DHL Group’s ocean- and air-forwarding arm DHL Global Forwarding (DHL GF) received CEIV-pharma certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for seven of its airfreight stations across the United States.

DHL Global Forwarding began the certification process for its global airfreight stations during the third quarter of 2016. Stations in Chicago, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Miami and San Juan have since received CEIV-pharma certification.

The Chicago station, which was the first to be certified, has combined office and warehouse space of 491,000 square feet and is the largest free-standing DHL GF building in the world. It includes two temperature-controlled chambers, with temperatures between +2◦C and +25◦C with two dedicated truck docks. DHL also offers its cloud-based IT platform LifeTrack for shipment tracking and intervention, when necessary.

“As a company that complies with these important global baseline IATA CEIV standards, DHL Global Forwarding can ensure its pharmaceutical customers we are working alongside of the aviation industry to safeguard their products with the highest integrity,” said David Bang, global head of DHL Temperature Management Solutions and CEO of LifeConEx at DHL Global Forwarding.
