AIRPORTS

Sean Donahue began his job as CEO of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Donohue was previously COO of Virgin Australia. He succeeds Jeffrey P. Fegan, who announced his retirement in January after 29 years of service, the last 19 as CEO. Donohue brings more than 25 years of airline and operational experience to his role with DFW. He has held many senior roles at United Airlines.

Stanley Hui decided to step down as CEO of Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA), effective July 2014. Hui will continue to oversee all aspects of AA’s operations until his departure. Marvin Cheung Kin-tung’s appointment as chairman of AA has been extended for one year to May 2015. Cheung plays a pivotal role directing the airport authority in achieving sustainable growth and development while strengthening Hong Kong’s status as a leading international and regional aviation center.

MAINTENANCE & MANUFACTURERS

Ildar Ilyasov, the managing director of Volga-Dnepr Technic, won a special award in the annual ARISTOS-2013 awards ceremony in Moscow that celebrated the best in the Russian business community. Ilyasov won the Our People in Germany nomination. The ceremony, which attracts more than 600 business leaders, was established by the Russian Managers Association, a public business community.

PASSING

Industry veteran Pat Kehoe passed away at the age of 66. Kehoe spent more than 35 years with United Airlines in a variety of management positions including passenger sales, reservations, marketing, operations and personnel before founding GSS, a cargo sales organization representing many carriers. His last 19 years with United were spent in the cargo division as regional cargo sales manager for the Mountain Region and the combined Central Region. Since 1996, until his retirement in 2003, he held a director-level position as manager of global accounts.

 

THIRD PARTIES

UPS named Jeff McCorstin as president of UPS Freight Forwarding in Asia Pacific. This continues a 23-year career with UPS, where he started as a package delivery driver in California in 1990, rising to leadership roles in engineering, finance, strategy and freight forwarding. Based in Singapore, McCorstin assumes responsibilities for air, ocean, road and rail freight strategy, revenue growth and specialized transportation services for health care, high-tech, retail and automotive across the Asia Pacific. Most recently, McCorstin was senior vice president of international air and ocean freight.

Damco appointed Tommy Mølgaard as global CFO. Mølgaard takes up his position after working as head of corporate finance at APM Terminals. He brings more than 20 years of experience in finance at a senior level in the logistics sector. He gained extensive experience as CFO during various assignments with the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Janna van Burgeler was named the 2013 Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year. She was awarded the title at the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) World Congress in Singapore. The four regional winners were Burgeler from Germany, Mohamed Samy from Egypt, Kaloyan Petrov from Canada and Prabhot Singh from India.

Theng Hui is the OAG Singapore office’s new regional sales director, JAPAC. OAG is a sister company of Air Cargo World. Hui has a background in airfreight and logistics, having worked at companies in ground handling, freight forwarding and aircraft equipment leasing. Hui was previously at Environtainer. He also worked in the real estate investment industry.

 

Saturn Freight Systems hired Tony Fordham as vice president of international business development. Fordham brings more than 29 years of experience in the air import and export market. His career in the industry began with a freight forwarder in the UK, where he served in the finance and accounting department. Eight years into his career, he made the move to the company’s U.S. headquarters and became assistant manager. His next 10 years was focused on developing the market for a major freight forwarder, where he ended up becoming the director of international operations.

Geodis Wilson appointed Sascha Geiken as cluster managing director for the Middle East region. Geiken joined Geodis Wilson in 2009 as managing director of Geodis Wilson United Arab Emirates. In his new position as cluster managing director, he will be responsible for UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Geiken, who started his freight forwarding career in 1995, has many years of experience in the Middle East working for major logistics companies. Based now at Geodis Wilson’s regional headquarters in Dubai, he leads a team of more than 90 employees at the company’s offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Lynden International appointed Frank Butler as Southeast regional manager and Charles McCarthy as Northeast regional manager. Butler will be based in Atlanta, and McCarthy in Lynden’s New York office. Butler has more than 30 years of experience in the transportation industry, including serving as vice president, Eastern region for Exel Logistics (formerly MSAS Global). Prior to joining Lynden, McCarthy was regional manager of cargo sales-Northeast for United Airlines. His 25-year logistics career includes a position as vice president/general manager at NI Logistics.

Peter Dew has been named president, Asia Pacific, of CEVA Logistics, formalizing the role he has held on an interim basis since July. Dew has been a member of CEVA’s executive board since 2008. Since joining CEVA in April 2008, in addition to his role as CIO, Dew has held various other positions within the organization, including chief human resources officer, and is on the board of gender diversity. Prior to joining CEVA, Dew spent his career with BOC Group, becoming chief information officer there in 1998. When BOC was acquired by the Linde Group in 2006, he became CIO of the combined entity.

Shaun Hawkett has been appointed as commercial director, USA for Globe Air Cargo to support ECS Group’s planned expansion of its GSSA business in North America. In this newly-created role, Hawkett will be responsible for overseeing all of Globe Air Cargo’s commercial activities in the U.S. He joined Globe Air Cargo in the UK in 2005 as general manager sales & marketing, UK and Ireland, having previously held the post of UK sales manager of bmi cargo.

Simon Angeldorff, chairman of the board, will become executive chairman of Envirotainer, succeeding CEO Gustaf Ljunggren. Envirotainer is involved in active temperature-controlled air transportation of pharmaceuticals. The board of directors has initiated a search for a new permanent CEO. Until one is onboard, Angeldorff will ensure operational continuity. Ljunggren will “take on new challenges outside the company,” according to Envirotainer. Angeldorff is a partner with AAC Capital Partners. Since joining AAC in 2008, he has worked with the investments in Viking Redningstjeneste and Envirotainer.
