American Airlines Cargo is seeking to strengthen its foothold in time-critical airfreight, promoting its Critical Priority Parcel Service (PPS) with a campaign called “All eyes on.”
Critical PPS oversees shipments of highly valuable cargo, such as human organs and pharmaceutical products. The promotional video, released this week, shows its internal shipment monitoring in action.
“We saw that customers wanted a product like MEDEVAC,” short for medical evacuation, the airline said, which is the fast transport of personnel and resources to emergency situations to provide medical help commonly associated with military situations. “So we brought in Critical PPS for that purpose.”
Now available in 150 locations around the globe, Critical PPS can handle shipments weighing up to 45 kilograms per package and measure up to 2.3 meters in length.
