Air China, Royal Jordanian choose WFS for Copenhagen ground handling

One of the world’s largest cargo handling firms, Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), expanded its business even further today by signing two more contracts with Air China and Royal Jordanian Airlines to provide ground handling support at Denmark’s Copenhagen Airport (CPH).

By the end of May, WFS said it will begin handling cargo transported by Air China’s five Airbus A330 passenger flights per week between CPH and Beijing Capital International Airport. WFS said expects to handle around 10 tonnes on each flight.

By the start of June, WFS will also welcome Royal Jordanian as its latest customer in Copenhagen when the airline launches three A320 flights a week to Amman.

“We have a very efficient cargo operation in Copenhagen and a reputation for meeting our customers’ individual services needs,” said Marc Claesen, WFS’ regional vice president. “This, combined with WFS’ strong network of stations across Europe and the advantages this creates for transit shipments to other destinations.”

So far this year, WFS has renewing several existing relationships and added several names to its client list, including Aer Lingus and Ethiopian Airlines in early March. WFS also began cargo handling contract at the airport with Cathay Pacific, which commenced at the end of March.

At the end of last year, WFS also extended its service offering for airline customers in Copenhagen with the opening of a new temperature-controlled handling facility for pharmaceuticals.
