Matternet granted FAA waiver for multiple drone operations

Company can now operate 20 drones per pilot.

Mountain View. Calif.-based Matternet has earned a certificate from the FAA that will allow for multiple drone operations under the control of one pilot.   The certificate is only valid at Matternet’s commercial test site in Pittsburg, Calif., and requires a visual observer to ensure clear airspace for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations.
