Today, Deutsche Post DHL Group announced it signed an agreement with Austrian Post to facilitate last-mile parcel delivery for cross-border shipments in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Under the agreement, Austrian Post subsidiary In Time will deliver parcels sent by DHL customers to Slovakia. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post DHL Group’s Czech subsidiary, PPL CZ, will deliver parcels sent by Austrian Post customers with a Czech Republic destination. The agreement is scheduled to begin in September 2019, according to Deutsche Post DHL.

“After the collaboration with Austrian Post in Austria both parties decided to further use each other’s delivery network,” said Petr Horak, managing director for PPL CZ and DHL Parcel Slovensko.

The agreement will have no impact on the business activities of DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, Freight and DHL Supply Chain in either Slovakia or the Czech Republic, Deutsche Post DHL said.
