Amid conflict, cargo carriers place special value mail delivery. Riga, Latvia-based airBaltic and Ukrposhta, the national postal service of Ukraine, organized a multimodal mail transportation system to connect the country via truck and ultimately fly mail from Kyiv (IEV). Over the past few months, airBaltic has carried more than 400 tonnes of mail from Ukraine. “This cooperation has proved itself to be highly successful and necessary,” airBaltic Chairman and Chief Executive Martin Gauss said in an October release.
