People: Jens Fehlinger to become CEO of Swiss

Jens Fehlinger will become chief executive of Swiss International Air Lines , a subsidiary of Lufthansa Group , on Oct. 1. He will succeed Dieter Vranckx , who became a member of Lufthansa Group’s executive board on July 1. [caption id="attachment_57144029" align="alignright" width="251"] Jens Fehlinger[/caption] Fehlinger started his professional career at Lufthansa Group in 2006 and has since held several management positions, according to a June 28 release from Swiss. Most recently, he was managing director and accountable manager at Lufthansa City Airlines and Lufthansa CityLine . During the pandemic, he was the vice president responsible for the group’s crisis management office and headed the ReNew restructuring project. Swiss Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach will act as interim CEO until Fehlinger begins. McInnes to helm UK cargo division at AIA Cargo Cargo services provider and general sales agent Airbridge International Agencies (AIA) Cargo appointed Colin D. McInnes as vice president of cargo for the United Kingdom, according to a June 13 release. [caption id="attachment_57144024" align="alignleft" width="203"] Colin D. McInnes[/caption] McInnes previously served as head of sales and account management for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Champ Cargosystems . Prior to that, he spent 18 years at Swiss WorldCargo , the cargo division of Swiss International Air Lines, ending his tenure there as senior manager for global key account management; he spent 10 years in London as regional manager of the United Kingdom, Ireland and Nordics, and more than three years as regional manager for Chicago and Midwest USA. BIFA welcomes three directors [caption id="attachment_57144027" align="alignright" width="300"] From left are Ian Mallon, Denise Hill and Chris Packwood[/caption] The British International Freight Association (BIFA) elected Denise Hill , Ian Mallon and Chris Packwood to its board of directors, according to a June 5 release from BIFA. Hill joined BIFA’s secretariat in April 2023 as member engagement director. She previously spent more than seven years at DHL Global Forwarding . Mallon is managing director of Neon Freight and Packwood is managing director of Geodis UK. El-Houry to chair World Aviation Services Association [caption id="attachment_57144026" align="alignright" width="200"] Hassan El-Houry[/caption] The World Aviation Services Association (ASA) appointed Hassan El-Houry as chairperson, effective July 1. He succeeds Atilla Korkmazoglu , who served as chairperson for two two-year terms. ASA is a nonprofit trade association representing more than 70 ground handling, cargo and aviation service providers, according to a recent release from the association. El-Houry is executive chairperson of Menzies Aviation and former CEO of National Aviation Services . He has been a member of the ASA board since 2022. Chapman Freeborn makes appointments to music and entertainment division [caption id="attachment_57144033" align="alignright" width="145"] Paul Kindred[/caption] [caption id="attachment_57144023" align="alignright" width="205"] Chloe Phelps[/caption] Air charter company Chapman Freeborn has appointed to its music and entertainment division Paul Kindred as senior business development manager and Chloe Phelps as team leader. Kindred and Phelps will be based at the company’s London Gatwick Airport (LGW) headquarters, according to a recent release. Kindred has more than three decades of experience in music and entertainment business development at companies including Premier Aviation UK and Air Partner , as well as 25 years at major record companies, including 10 years at Sony Music Entertainment . Phelps joined Chapman Freeborn in 2018 as part of the tour support team. In her new role, she will manage chartering services for music tours and develop client relationships. “Chapman Freeborn has been chartering aircraft for the music industry since 1973, impressively coordinating major music tours, festivals and one-off concerts for household names, right from the start,” Kindred said in the release. Linkner takes VP role at Global Crossings Airlines [caption id="attachment_57144035" align="alignright" width="237"] Roy Linkner[/caption] Roy Linkner has been appointed vice president cargo sales at Global Crossings Airlines , he announced in a LinkedIn post in June. Linkner is also the managing director of cargo service company CargoGravity . He previously held positions at Chapman Freeborn, 21 Air , Precision Aircraft Solutions , Airborne Global Solutions , Martinair , Delta Air Lines and British Airways , according to his LinkedIn profile.
