Real-time, personalized pricing, powered by Houston-based PROS ’ smart price optimization and management platform, is now live on all online booking channels across Qatar Airways Cargo ’s network. “The SaaS solution uses artificial intelligence optimization models to provide real-time dynamic pricing by accessing live capacity to offer accurate and bookable rates that are designed to improve win rates by personalizing the price offering and maximizing sales,” PROS Air Cargo Solutions Product Manager Thomas Patella told Air Cargo Next . PROS’ air cargo orchestration services enable Qatar Cargo to provide real-time, optimized prices to third-party digital marketplaces such as WebCargo by Freightos , CargoAi and cargo.one . “PROS real-time pricing engine provides a highly accurate, scalable pricing capability that directly translates to a reliable and responsive buying experience for our customers,” Florent Bonello , vice president cargo revenue management at Qatar Airways Cargo, said in a release. “As a next phase of our implementation, we are seamlessly integrating PROS’ smart-configure price quote within our sales ecosystem, so that we can quickly manage and deliver omnichannel quoting across our spot, contract and allotment sales.” The PROS platform streamlines the sales process, thus improving customer experience, Patella said. ASM launches new service desk U.K.-based Agency Sector Management (ASM) launched its new service desk portal to make it easier for freight forwarders to raise problems, track queries and request enhancements to ASM’s customs clearance software, Sequoia. (Photo/ASM)[/caption] “The new service desk will help us improve efficiency by streamlining our operations, allowing us to better manage and improve the service we deliver,” Sally-Anne Cox , ASM service desk manager, said in a release. “This will enable all tickets to be answered in a timely fashion, so forwarders can rest assured their query is being handled.” Within the portal, users can track the status of all their tickets online, as well as send and receive updates. Tickets will be managed by the ASM team, who have been trained to guide forwarders through customs procedural modifications , such as the migration of export declarations from the Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system to Customs Declaration Service (CDS). “In the wake of recent customs and Brexit-related changes to regulations, the freight forwarding community is facing unprecedented levels of disruption,” ASM General Manager Sharon Greer said in the release. CharterSync becomes 5th CargoTech member U.K.-based air cargo charter company CharterSync has become the fifth member of CargoTech , a conglomerate of independently operated companies that offers a platform for members to coordinate activities related to encouraging, facilitating and accelerating the digital transformation of the air cargo industry. CharterSync joins members ECS Group ’s Cargo Digital Factory, Wiremind Cargo , CargoAi and Rotate . The addition of CharterSync as the group’s fifth member offers forwarders and airlines the opportunity to bring enhanced value and efficiency to their charter process without compromising on service levels, according to the release. “CargoTech and CharterSync share “the same philosophy for innovation and digital transformation within the air cargo industry,” CharterSync founder and Director Ed Gillett told Air Cargo Next . “Given the speed at which the industry has adapted over the last few years, it was a unique proposition from CargoTech to combine both the technology and air cargo expertise. Being part of the CargoTech group inspires us to think bigger, reach higher.” Gillett is looking forward to “synergizing” CharterSync’s offerings with those of other members. “One specific example would be the use of Skypallet by Wiremind Cargo,” Gillett said. “With every charter request there are many variables, and being able to quickly and accurately determine how many pallets can be loaded onto the aircraft at the quotation stage will further enhance the offering to our clients with greater speed and efficiency. “Other members like CargoAi and Rotate will further allow us to incorporate service enhancements to the CharterSync offering, and it will be a very exciting journey ahead as we push the boundaries with true digital transformation,” he said. All five members will gather for the first time in October to further develop the CargoTech product road map. SHA uses ADB’s AI solution to improve apron ops Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) has implemented ADB Safegate ’s AI-powered solutions coupled with machine-learning algorithms to improve apron efficiency at reduced operational costs. ADB Safegate’s new prediction model applies advanced AI/ML techniques and data analytics to help calculate an aircraft’s ETA and pre-allocate flight stands. “Thanks to ADB Safegate’s AI prediction algorithm, 75% of our flights now land within 30 minutes of their scheduled landing time,” SHA Section Manager Wang Zhi said in a release. “This improved accuracy has directly benefited our pre-allocation of stands, reducing the need to make stand changes by 25%.” ADB Safegate has been an in-house vendor for SHA for more than 15 years. “We have built an evaluation mechanism of ground operation efficiency through intelligent data analysis that has improved the allocation of stand resources, resulting in the capability to manage, and even accommodate, more flights,” ADB Vice President China Peng Guan said in the release. “Digital technologies are playing a key role in optimizing the operational efficiency of airports and we hope to continue to build long-term partnerships with customers in the region to support their transformation on this path.” Join Air Cargo Next for the second annual Air Cargo Tech Summit on Monday, Sept. 18, and Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place in Belgium.
