IAG Cargo has made a point of training its own staff in the European Commission’s Good Distribution Practices (GDP) when handling life-science and pharmaceutical products. Now, it has stepped up its GDP efforts by forming the Good Distribution Practice Academy in collaboration with Exelsius, a cold-chain logistics consulting firm.
With this program, the two companies will offer training classes to pharmaceutical manufacturers, logistic service providers, ground handlers and all others involved in the logistics process. Courses will be offered on the following dates:
- Feb. 3-4, 2016, at Heathrow Airport
- May 17-18 in Dublin
- July 13-14 in Atlanta
- Sept. 27-28 in Asia (exact location to be announced later).
Students taking the February classes will get hands–on experience in the cold-chain processes at IAG’s Constant Climate Center at London-Heathrow, meeting the team that handles pharmaceutical and life science shipments across the world.
