AirBridgeCargo (ABC) has signed a leasing agreement with Jettainer on a short-term requirement that will grant the carrier access to the company’s fleet of ULDs – addressing demand for transportation of “special cargo,” such as live animals and automotive equipment.
ABC said it experienced 25 percent growth in its volumes of special cargoes last year, and that it expects the trend to continue into 2019.
“Our leasing model meets the growing customer demand for short-term access to standard ULDs as well as special containers, wherever they are needed,” said Carsten Hernig, managing director of Jettainer.
Jettainer, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo, calls the service offering “JettLease,” which allows rental contracts for its standard and special ULDs from one day up to several months.
